Privacy & choices

Your play. Your choices.

LearnPlay welcomes children and teenagers to explore school-topic games without an account. Parents, teachers and adult learners are welcome too. Optional adult accounts are for ages 18 and over. Teens aged 13–17 have a separate private account path with verified guardian approval. Here is what LearnPlay processes and how to ask about your data.

Who is responsible

LearnPlay is operated by NextDNA Edutech LLP. Use the privacy request form to reach the team responsible for privacy questions, access, correction, account closure or a concern about a child’s information. The form returns a request reference; it is a request channel, not an automatic erasure service.

What we use and why

ActivityData and purpose
Browsing and starting a gameThe website and hosting services receive the network requests needed to deliver pages and game files. Public page-open totals are grouped by day and broad page category; game-launch totals are grouped by game and day. These counters work for guest and signed-in browsing without joining a view to an account. They store no visitor ID, cookie, IP address, full URL, query, referrer or personal browsing history. They count opens, including reloads, not unique people, completed lessons or learning outcomes. Account, contact and creator-input pages and embedded game frames are excluded from page-open counts. Fixed campaign labels can also group landing visits and game-start events; these labels identify a campaign, not a person.
Saving on this deviceGames may use browser storage for progress, preferences, saved games and recently played items. Storage varies by game. Progress saved only in this browser does not automatically transfer to another device or provide a cloud backup. Clearing site data or using a shared device affects what remains available.
An adult accountEmail, a protected password, adult declaration and notice acceptance support sign-in and account management. We record the latest successful sign-in time, a sign-in count and daily sign-in totals so authorised administrators can support accounts and understand platform use; a sign-in time is not live presence. Optional profile details, saved games and supported game progress are stored when you use those features. Signed-in play records can include the game, score, duration and completion.
A guardian-linked teen accountA sign-in email, protected password, age band (13–17), made-up nickname, guardian link and versioned consent record support the private account. Built-in avatar choices, bookmarks and supported private cloud saves are stored when used. We do not ask for a date of birth or a child’s legal name for this account path. See the family account notice.
Creator submissionsGame files or a link, descriptions, a public nickname, private contact email and publication choices support review. A submission is not public merely because it was sent. A reviewed adult creator identity is separate from a private account profile. Teen drafts remain private until a verified guardian approves the exact project and public nickname and LearnPlay moderates it. Public teen games do not link to a public account profile.
Multiplayer rooms and other online game featuresSome games support guest multiplayer rooms without a cloud account. Room features and availability vary by game. Some games need session, connection or device identifiers to run rooms, reconnect or save supported progress. These are separate from public launch counts. Do not enter real names or personal details in game fields.
AvatarsGuest character choices and optional made-up nicknames stay in this browser. Signed-in accounts can save a character, background and accessory across devices. Personal-photo uploads are unavailable to teen accounts. For adult accounts, an uploaded avatar is processed into a cropped, metadata-free image and stored for the account owner; the new private upload is not published as a creator or multiplayer photo. Use an original character or drawing instead of sharing identifying photos. You can replace or remove your uploaded avatar.
Player feedbackA category, message, optional rating, game and made-up nickname help our team improve LearnPlay. No account or email is required. Feedback is private to the team; do not include personal information. Feedback records do not include raw IP addresses, browser details or account identifiers. Separate keyed security counters temporarily limit repeated submissions.
Contact and data requestsAn adult contact email, request category and message let us respond and verify authority where necessary. Do not send passwords, identity documents, financial details or a child’s identifying details in the form.

Security and hosting logs are distinct from public game statistics. An account-free game can still require network or session data; account-free does not mean that every connection is anonymous.

Children, teens and family use

School-age children and teenagers are welcome to play LearnPlay games as guests, without signing in. Parents and teachers can help them choose a game that fits their interests and experience.

Under-13 accounts are not available. Teens aged 13–17 can use a private account only after a parent or lawful guardian completes verification and gives account consent. Adults aged 18 or over have a separate account path. These are LearnPlay’s feature rules; they do not mean that 13 is a universal legal threshold for every online activity. Do not use an adult’s credentials to bypass the teen account safeguards.

Parents and teachers should choose suitable games and supervise use as appropriate. A game’s topic or age guidance is not a guarantee that it suits every learner. Please use the safety request form if information about a child has been shared or something needs review. An adult should make the request without including unnecessary information about the child.

Family account notice

Family notice version 2026-11-03-family-1 · 3 November 2026. This notice covers the protected 13–17 account path and its guardian permissions. The adult account declaration is a separate choice.

Verification comes before an invitation

A parent or lawful guardian confirms their own account email, then uses their own adult account to request verification in Family accounts. An authorised LearnPlay operator reviews the adult’s identity and parental or lawful guardianship authority through an independent review process. An email address or checkbox is not enough, and a teacher account does not itself establish guardianship. The service stores the review outcome, method, dates and a non-identifying verification reference. Do not upload identity documents or identity numbers into account, feedback or contact forms.

After verification, the guardian reads this notice and gives consent for a private teen account. A one-use invitation expires after 24 hours. Share it privately with the intended teen. The teen checks the invitation before entering their email, password and made-up nickname, confirms the 13–17 age band and acknowledges this notice. Invitation codes are stored as protected hashes and are not public account links.

What the private account enables

The service uses the teen’s email and protected password to support sign-in, recovery and account management. The nickname, guardian link and versioned consent records control access. Built-in character choices, bookmarks and supported game saves remain private. Authorised administrators can see private account creation and latest successful sign-in information to operate and support the service. A teen profile is not a public creator page. Personal-photo uploads, social friend and follower features, and public account leaderboards are unavailable to these accounts. Optional Google Analytics is disabled for recognised teen accounts; do not enable adult analytics before handing a shared browser to a child.

Cloud saving is available only where a game explicitly supports the private teen account path. Guest progress in another game does not automatically become a cloud save. The family service may be unavailable during maintenance; guest play remains available.

Publishing needs separate choices

A teen can send a project to their private project studio. The service stores its code, description, proposed public nickname, rights confirmations and review history. A guardian must separately grant publishing permission and approve the specific project and public credit. LearnPlay moderation follows. Until all required approvals are present, the draft is visible only to the teen, their verified linked guardian and authorised reviewers.

A published teen project shares its game, title, description, category and approved nickname. It does not share the sign-in email, guardian identity or a link to a public teen profile. Keep personal information out of the game itself. Publication permission allows LearnPlay to host, review and display the approved work; it does not transfer ownership. See the Terms of use.

Family account emails

LearnPlay uses Resend or its configured SMTP email provider to send a verification code to the adult account’s own email address and necessary family-account notices. We provide the recipient email and message content to the delivery provider. The code confirms inbox access, not age or parental authority. Codes expire after 10 minutes; we keep a protected code hash and limited attempt and delivery status records rather than the code itself. Minimal family-email receipt records are scheduled to expire after 90 days. Invitation secrets and children’s game progress are not included in family notification emails. A message accepted for sending is not proof that it reached your inbox.

Changing your mind

In Family accounts, the guardian can withdraw publishing permission separately or withdraw account consent. Either the teen or guardian can retract a project; the teen can also leave the account. The server checks the current consent before allowing private features or serving a published teen game. Account withdrawal blocks cloud access and removes private cloud progress. Required approval ending also makes published teen projects unavailable.

Withdrawal does not automatically erase every account, draft, verification, review or necessary security record, or copies someone has already made of public material. Use Contact & data requests for verified account closure, access, correction or erasure. We verify account control or guardian authority before disclosing or changing protected information.

Services, external files and advertising

Hosting, database and delivery services process the data necessary to operate LearnPlay. Some games load libraries, fonts or media from external websites; those services receive the requests needed to deliver those files. Community games are submitted by creators and are reviewed before publication, but a browser sandbox is not a guarantee against every external connection.

LearnPlay’s games are free to play without in-game advertising. We may advertise LearnPlay elsewhere. Player records must not be used to build child remarketing lists or advertising profiles. These pages do not load Google Ads conversion tags, remarketing tags, session replay or social advertising pixels.

If you follow an external link, the destination has its own practices. Avoid sharing personal information with an external game or service unless you understand who will receive it.

Optional nonpaying creator pilot

Creator pilot notice version 2026-11-03-creator-pilot-1 · 3 November 2026. This optional test helps LearnPlay check meaningful-play measurements and private creator statements. It is separate from Google Analytics, family account permissions and game publication. Prototype units have no cash value, cannot be withdrawn or transferred, and create no entitlement to future payments. Likes, Follows and historical launch counts do not earn money.

Measurement is available only to invited, independently age-verified adults aged 18 or over in India, for specifically reviewed game builds and after a separate consent choice. A self-declaration or guardian permission does not enrol someone. Children, teens, guests and visitors whose age is unknown are excluded from reward measurement. All games remain free to play when measurement is unavailable, declined or withdrawn. Do not hand an adult test session to a child; sign out first.

An approved session uses a random short-lived session identifier, a period-specific account pseudonym, the game and build version, server receipt times, bounded visibility/activity hints and validated game-action/checkpoint results. It does not collect keystroke histories, screenshots, audio, camera data, device fingerprints, precise location or child gameplay profiles. The server checks current eligibility and permission and limits repeat contributions. Browser activity alone does not prove a human play or learning outcome.

Authorised reviewers can investigate eligibility, moderation and suspicious activity. Creators see only their own aggregate results, broad reasons and fixed-period statements; they do not receive player identities or audience lists. Raw bounded event records expire 14 days after a session closes. Minimal evidence summaries and period pseudonym mappings expire 90 days after the period ends, subject to necessary, documented security and legal holds. Expiry is also checked by the service; database expiry jobs and backups may take additional time. Minimal versioned consent receipts remain while the permission is active and can remain for up to 366 days after withdrawal; operator audit records can remain for up to 366 days after the review event to demonstrate permissions and decisions. A session remains linkable while a necessary consent record exists; removing a period mapping alone does not make it anonymous. Verified account erasure uses a separate restricted cleanup process, and documented legal holds can require longer retention without allowing further reward scoring. Security logs are kept separately under applicable requirements and are not reused as reward engagement profiles.

Use Withdraw measurement consent in the pilot panel to stop new collection and invalidate measured sessions. Unfinalized affected units are excluded or recalculated, and unnecessary linkage is removed through the cleanup process. Existing anonymous aggregate totals and records that must lawfully be retained may remain. For access, correction, closure, a privacy concern or help with withdrawal, use Contact & data requests. Nothing in this test authorises bank verification, financial onboarding or payment transactions.

Optional Google Analytics for adults

Google Analytics is off by default. An adult may use Privacy choices to declare that they are 18 or over and separately choose optional analytics for their own use of LearnPlay. Playing does not require this choice. Keep analytics off when a child uses this browser. A declaration is not verified age or verified parental consent, and it does not authorize tracking a child.

After an adult opts in, Google receives basic visit information, a pseudonymous session identifier, device and network information, and the names of supported games that are launched. For games with explicit signals, separate milestones show that the game became ready, a run started or a first task was completed. Readiness is not gameplay or lesson completion. On the homepage and public Labs catalog, a fixed event can record the first interaction with the lamp preview; it contains no slider values or notebook details and is not a completed lab. Google processes this information to produce visit statistics. We send a cleaned page address and limited campaign labels; we do not send URL queries or fragments, account details, names, email addresses, chat, room codes, search text, scores or learning records. Account, contact and creator-input pages are excluded from collection. Embedded game frames do not create extra Analytics page views.

The Analytics configuration uses session cookies whose expiry is set to the browser session rather than a persistent duration. Browser session-restore behaviour can affect when a session ends. Google Signals and advertising personalization are disabled for this LearnPlay tag, and advertising consent remains denied. This does not enable Google Ads conversion tags, child remarketing, session replay or social advertising pixels.

An adult opt-in is stored only for this tab session, rather than as a persistent browser grant. An off choice and an optional adult declaration may be remembered locally for up to 90 days. Closing a tab normally ends its session, but browser restore features can preserve it; withdraw permission before handing a shared device to a child. Reopen Privacy choices and choose Keep analytics off to withdraw: LearnPlay disables the tag, removes its Google Analytics cookies and reloads the page so the Google library stops running. Withdrawal stops future collection; it does not automatically erase information already received by Google. Use our privacy request form for a concern about previously collected data. You can also clear site data in your browser. Google describes its processing in Google’s Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

How long data stays

Public page-open and sign-in daily totals are scheduled to expire after 366 days. Public page-open and game-launch statistics retain daily totals rather than IP addresses, full browser details or full referring URLs as individual events. Latest sign-in metadata remains with the account. First-party public page counts are separate from optional Google Analytics and do not identify guest visitors. Existing historical data may require a separate migration and retention review; publishing this notice does not itself erase old records. Optional Google Analytics is separate from those first-party public counts; its previously received information follows the Analytics property's retention and aggregation settings.

Contact and privacy requests are scheduled to expire after 365 days. Account, family consent, verification and review records remain while needed to operate the account, demonstrate permissions and resolve requests, subject to a verified closure or erasure request. Private teen cloud progress is removed when account consent is withdrawn; withdrawing only publishing consent leaves the private account active. Necessary security, fraud-prevention and legal records may need to remain for the applicable required period. Backups and records subject to a legal hold may follow a different deletion cycle.

Your browser controls locally stored games and progress. You can clear that storage through your browser; this does not delete an online account.

Access, correction, closure and concerns

Use Contact & data requests to ask for access, an export, correction, deletion or help with a privacy concern. We may need to verify account control or legal authority before sharing or changing records. Sending a request does not immediately delete an account, publish data or disclose an export.

You can keep playing without an online account, avoid optional profile fields, and clear browser data. A verified guardian can manage teen permissions in Family accounts; a teen with an invitation can use the protected account setup. If you use a shared device, sign out when finished. We will update this notice when material practices change and identify the new version.
